Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator (Remote Opportunity)

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator remotely: on-site 1 day per week or less to perform duties related to clinical research trials evaluating preventive interventions for substance use for individuals and their families. Responsibilities include coordinating ongoing projects, participant recruitment and data collection, community stakeholder engagement, literature reviews, project tracking, and participant remuneration. Our mission is to serve our community with compassion, collaborate with interdisciplinary scientists and community partners, and lead innovative research to improve interventions for substance use. The Coordinator will work closely with the principal investigator and a senior coordinator.

Our lab seeks a team member passionate about working with individuals with substance use and mental health issues, aiming to drive innovation in recovery. This is a remote role: on-site 1 day per week or less.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Conduct literature reviews and syntheses
  2. Conduct qualitative interviews and focus groups, analyze data
  3. Schedule and contact participants for reminders or requirements
  4. Prepare regulatory documents, maintain forms and logs, file correspondence
  5. Assist with screening, recruiting, and obtaining consent from participants
  6. Extract data from source documents
  7. Process study payments and send thank you letters
  8. Assist with post-study activities as needed

*Other duties may also be assigned.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • BA/BS in Psychology, Human Biology, or related field
  • Clinical research experience, especially with mental health or substance use patients
  • Knowledge of GCP or willingness to learn
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills
Education & Experience (Required):

Two-year college degree and one year of relevant experience or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Required):
  • Medical terminology knowledge
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
Physical Requirements:

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and fine grasping; occasional sitting, reaching, desk work, lifting up to 40 pounds; rare kneeling, crawling, climbing, and lifting over 40 pounds. Reasonable accommodations will be provided as required by law.
