Job description

Stanford University is seeking a Research Coordinator & Lab Manager working remotely and required to go on-site 1 day or less per week. This position will perform duties related to data quality control of research studies. Coordinate moderately complex aspects of one or more clinical studies. The candidate will work in the Stanford Computational Neuroscience Laboratory. The candidate will work on multiple ongoing projects within the lab, including with the National Consortium on Alcohol and Neurodevelopment in Adolescence - Adulthood (NCANDA-A). The candidate will also assist in managing the lab calendar and coordinating meetings for these projects.

Duties include:
  • Collect and manage patient and laboratory data for research projects. Manage research project databases, develop flow sheets and other study-related documents, and complete study documents/case report forms.
  • Ensure compliance with research protocols, review and audit case report forms for completion and accuracy with source documents. Prepare regulatory submissions and ensure institutional Review Board renewals are completed.
  • Monitor expenditures and adherence to study budgets and resolve billing issues in collaboration with finance and/or management staff.
  • Manage lab calendar and coordinate meetings.
  • Interact with the principal investigator regularly.
  • Ensure essential documentation of research data in appropriate files per institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of neuroscience and basic coding skills are advantageous.

Desired Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree (or on path to graduation) in biomedical data science, neuroscience, or cognitive science fields.
  • 1+ years of clinical research coordination, lab management, and data collection coordination.
  • Proficiency with office tools, such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and ability to use other software as needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education & Experience (Required):
  • Two-year college degree and two years of related work experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of related education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Required):
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of neuroscience and some coding skills are a plus.
  • Ability to operate digital devices such as smartphones and iPads to record video.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat, and use fine light/grasping skills.
  • Occasionally sit, reach above shoulders, perform desk-based computer tasks, use a telephone, and lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 40 pounds.
  • Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, grasp forcefully, sort and file paperwork or parts, or lift objects over 40 pounds.

The expected pay range for this position is $27.03 - $33.35 hourly. Stanford University provides pay ranges as a good faith estimate. The actual pay will depend on various factors including responsibilities, qualifications, budget, and market rates.
