Play N Learn Christian Academy has been serving the Dallas, Texas community for nearly 30 years, positively impacting the lives of children through developmentally appropriate Christian care and early education programs. Next year, Play N Learn branches out into the growing Balch Springs, TX community to serve the families and children in 75180 and surrounding areas.

The academy provides high-quality care for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age youth, focusing on nurturing their growth and well-being. Programs are designed to support each child’s developmental stage and encourage social, emotional, and academic readiness. Role Description

The Childcare Director is a full-time, on-site role based in our brand-new Balch Springs, TX location. This leader will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the academy and ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for all children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operations & Compliance: Maintain full compliance with Texas Minimum Standards for Child-Care Centers (Chapter 746) and handle all local licensing inspections.
• Staff Leadership: Recruit, supervise, and mentor educators while managing classroom ratios and schedules.
• Faith-Based Curriculum: Collaborate on curriculum planning to implement age-appropriate educational and Christian-based activities.
• Enrollment & Administration: Drive center growth by managing enrollment, maintaining digital records, and managing the center's operational budget.
• Community Engagement: Partner with families through regular, transparent communication, conferences, and center events.
• Health & Safety: Direct rigorous health, safety, and sanitization procedures across the facility.

Qualifications

• Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age per state regulation.
• Licensing & Certification: Must hold a valid Texas Child-Care Center Director’s Certificate or meet the state-approved combination of education and experience to apply for one immediately.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a licensed childcare center.
• Proven Leadership: Previous experience in a childcare center leadership, assistant director, or administrative role.
• Education: A CDA and/or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field is highly preferred.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of Texas HHSC childcare licensing standards, safety rules, and compliance protocols.
• Curriculum & Instruction: Strong skills in early childhood pedagogy and curriculum planning for diverse age groups.
• Core Skills: Exceptional communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, families, and staff.
• Logistics & Transport: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and a willingness to occasionally transport school-age children if required.
• Health Requirements: Must hold (or be willing to obtain) current CPR and First Aid certifications, pass a comprehensive fingerprint-based Texas background check, and complete required state health screenings.
