Job summary

EMCOR Government Services in Arlington, VA is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer (ACE) to support the Project Manager and Chief Engineer with overseeing building operations and maintenance. The ACE assists in forecasting upgrades and managing budgets while ensuring safety and compliance.

Responsibilities include coordinating subcontractors, scheduling manpower, and providing technical guidance to O&M staff. A Universal CFC certification and relevant licenses are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess blueprint reading ability and a Universal CFC certification.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in building operations and maintenance.
• Licenses preferred: Maryland 1st Class Stationary Engineer or DC 3rd Class Steam Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Engineer in day-to-day site operations and maintenance.
• Forecast upgrades, repairs, and replacements; optimize existing systems.
• Oversee, schedule, and review subcontractors performing O&M work.
• Schedule manpower and manage preventive maintenance efforts.
• Provide O&M reports and ensure adherence to budgets and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and staff; support procurement and contracts.
