Job summary

EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for an Assistant Chief Engineer (ACE) in Arlington, VA. The ACE assists the Project Manager and Chief Engineer with overseeing building operations and maintenance. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99.

The ACE will supervise O&M staff, coordinate subcontractors, plan preventive maintenance, respond to facility emergencies, and ensure safety, compliance, and cost control under the contract.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Universal CFC certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Maryland 1st Class Stationary Engineer License or DC 3rd Class Steam Engineer License preferred.
• OSHA 501 Trainer certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the site.
• Assist the Chief Engineer in forecasting and planning upgrades, repairs, and replacements of equipment and systems, as well as enhancing existing systems.
• Oversee, schedule, and review subcontractors performing operations and maintenance work.
• Schedule manpower effectively.
• Assist the Chief Engineer in managing preventive maintenance efforts.
• Assist the Chief Engineer in managing service call efforts.
• Provide reports on O&M activities as needed.
• Maintain familiarity with contract requirements.
