Job summary

M.C. Dean seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer to support 24/7 mission-critical facility operations in Tysons, VA. You will supervise technicians, ensure safe, compliant MEP performance, review maintenance activities, and develop SOPs for critical systems.

The role requires extensive facilities experience, BAS/EMCS expertise, and TS/SCI eligibility. Responsibilities include coordinating procurement, overseeing subcontractors, and planning work to minimize downtime while maintaining high safety

Qualifications

• 10+ years of facilities maintenance experience with a high school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of operations, maintenance, and management of BAS/EMCS/DDC systems.
• Clearance: TS/SCI eligibility required for access to classified spaces.
• Experience in office administration, plant management, reporting, drawings, and OSHA codes.
• Ability to identify and resolve complex facility problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Project and MS Office; CMMS experience essential.

Responsibilities

• Support daily facility operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant MEP performance.
• Supervise staff and enforce standards; lead maintenance and emergency response.
• Provide day-to-day supervision for technicians and shift leads.
• Review work orders, tickets, and logs for accuracy and quality.
• Develop SOPs and MOPs for mission-critical systems.
• Coordinate procurement and manage inventory of maintenance parts.
• Oversee subcontractors performing maintenance or project work.
• Assist in planning and scheduling to minimize disruptions.
• Assist Chief Engineer in daily operations and workforce performance.
