Job summary

EMCOR Government Services, Inc. in Washington, DC is seeking a 3rd Class Engineer to operate and maintain building systems, ensuring safe, efficient performance during daily tours. The role supports HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems on-site.

The engineer will coordinate with technicians, assist in preventive maintenance programs, and ensure compliance with the Local 99 CBA and security requirements. This position is on-site and requires O&M experience.

Qualifications

• DC 3rd Engineering License required.
• 5 years of recent Operations and Maintenance experience within the last 7 years.
• CFC Universal certification required.
• Must be able to acquire a GSA Public Trust Clearance (HSPD-12).

Responsibilities

• Operate and oversee day-to-day operation, maintenance and repair of building systems including HVAC, electrical, lighting, plumbing, energy management, water treatment and fire protection.
• Receive work assignments, plan and execute tasks, obtain tools and materials, and complete related paperwork promptly.
• Assist maintenance Technicians with troubleshooting and coordination of contractors.
• Follow preventive maintenance procedures and maintain accurate logs and records.
