Job summary

Fernwood Property Management is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to oversee daily building systems operations in Chicago. You will assist Chief Engineer with maintenance, inspections, log readings, and supervising janitorial and maintenance staff.

The role requires strong communication, proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel, and the ability to coordinate with residents, contractors, and management. In this position, you will respond to emergencies and help ensure safety and adherence to

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Chief Engineer, manage procurement, records, and communications with residents and staff.
• Coordinate with Maintenance/Janitorial staff to support daily activities.
• Respond promptly to emergencies per procedures.
• Ensure amenity space use complies with company policy.
• Establish and implement maintenance task procedures.
• Suggest improvements to office and administrative procedures.
• Promote building and resident safety with all staff.
• Perform routine unit remodel inspections for code compliance.
