Job summary

La Colombe is seeking an Assistant Cafe Manager in San Diego to be the right hand to the Cafe Manager, helping lead daily operations and ensure a welcoming environment for guests and team members.

You’ll recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of baristas to deliver the exceptional customer service and coffee experience La Colombe is known for. This role requires leadership, hands-on coaching, and a commitment to fast, friendly service.

Qualifications

• Leadership or supervisory experience in hospitality, retail, or food & beverage.
• Strong people skills with ability to inspire a team.
• Knowledge of cafe operations, barista skills, or passion for coffee culture.
• Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic understanding of business operations (scheduling, inventory, POS).
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and twisting.

• Act as a host to ensure every guest has a positive experience.
• Lead by example and coach the team to deliver outstanding service.
• Handle guest inquiries promptly and address concerns with empathy.
