Job summary

Macy's, Inc. is seeking an Assistant CAD Designer to develop prints, color combinations, stripes, graphics, embellishments, jacquards, and plaids for seasonal collections. You will support the Senior CAD Designer in executing a customer-centric strategy while driving sales and margins.

Key duties include trend research, in-season print updates with vendors, and preparing print boards for markets. Strong CAD skills and fabric knowledge are essential for timely, accurate design execution.

Qualifications

• CAD Design: create prints, colorways, stripes, graphics, embellishments, jacquards, plaids.
• Trend research: research current fashion trends for prints and colorways.
• Color/print sense: differentiate colors and prints for cohesive designs.
• Graphic design: create/manipulate logos and visuals using design software.
• Technical: fabric simulations (wovens, knits, foils) knowledge.
• Pattern development: develop and refine pattern repeats for production.
• Creative problem solving: proactively improve design approaches.

Responsibilities

• Assist in trend research for Seasonal Prep and Concept milestone meetings.
• Collaborate on in-season print/pattern changes with design and vendors.
• Support meetings by recommending print/pattern assortments to resources and management.
• Identify key prints/patterns for each classification.
• Adhere to seasonal time and action calendar for responsibilities.
• Assist in designing colorways, prints, fabrics and embellishments.
• Prepare print boards and market presentations.
