Job summary

Madewell is seeking a Sr. Manager of Print & Pattern Design (CAD) in New York. Lead CAD development for print, stripes, plaids and graphics across women’s apparel and accessories, translating concepts into production-ready artwork.

You will mentor CAD designers, protect technical integrity, and partner with Design, TD, and mills to ensure accurate CDL to finished products while evolving Madewell’s brand language and identity.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in CAD, print, or pattern design for knit or woven apparel.
• 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring designers or CAD artists.
• Expert proficiency in CAD and textile design software (NedGraphics or Kaledo) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Strong knowledge of stripe, plaid, and graphic construction and repeat development across knit and woven fabrics.
• Attention to detail and ability to communicate artwork decisions to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the CAD illustration and development of print, stripe, plaid, and graphic artworks in colorway options for apparel and accessories each season.
• Translate seasonal concept, color, and print direction into production-ready CAD artwork and colorways.
• Collaborate with Design, Technical Design, and sourcing to ensure accurate translation from CAD to finished product.
• Mentor CAD designers and manage CAD workflow and seasonal priorities.
• Stay current on CAD software and print/pattern techniques and archive all print resources.
