Job summary

URBN is seeking an Assistant Buyer to support the Buying team by planning product purchases, studying fashion trends, and managing samples to ensure timely, on-brand assortments.

You will help curate a customer-focused product mix using data-backed insights, coordinate with internal teams and vendors, and ensure orders arrive on time and within budget.

This role emphasizes attention to detail, strong communication, and collaboration in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Fashion or merchandising degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 1 year of clerical or retail experience preferred.
• Understanding of target customer and how trends translate to product.

Responsibilities

• Support the Buyer in determining product mix with data-backed insights and regional tailoring.
• Stay updated on fashion trends and market developments to inform selections.
• Manage department samples from vendors and maintain logs and season classifications.
• Update assortment sheets and use Island Pacific to ensure order accuracy and perform basic analyses.
• Collaborate with peers, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure on-time, on-budget orders.
