Job summary

ECORP Consulting, Inc. is seeking a full-time Assistant Archaeologist to join our Northern California cultural resources team based in Rocklin.

The role supports both field and office work across the region, requiring strong organization and adaptability. The ideal candidate will have a field school background, up to 2 years of archaeology experience, and solid skills in CEQA/NEPA, data management, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, History, or related field.
• 0–2 years of professional archaeology.
• Understanding of CEQA, NEPA, and other regulations.
• Field school completion and archaeology survey experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing project schedules and client needs.
• Demonstrated organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Maintain accurate and detailed technical records.

Responsibilities

• Supports project managers and field teams with project coordination, scheduling, and logistics.
• Assists with archaeological surveys, monitoring, excavations, and field activities.
• Conducts records searches, literature reviews, and other research activities.
• Prepares technical reports, site records, maps, and environmental documentation per CEQA/NEPA.
• Coordinates with project teams, regulatory agencies, tribes, clients, and stakeholders.
• Maintains field notes, GIS data, and project documentation; supports data management and QC.
• Supports laboratory activities including artifact processing, cataloging, and analysis.
