Asset Protection Security Specialist (HR)

Position Details

Salary Range: $21.05/hr - $24.60/hr

Position Summary: Prevent and reduce loss due to bad debt, cash over/short, and civil liabilities; reduce shrink and improve margins. All associates are expected to perform tasks safely, in accordance with company policies and legal standards. Demonstrate core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. Based in Portland, Oregon, Fred Meyer has merged with The Kroger Company since 1998 and operates over 120 stores across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Alaska.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies and procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field, or relevant experience.
• Retail security or law enforcement experience preferred.
• Ability to continue education and pass a drug test.
• High school diploma or GED; minimum age 18 (21 in Alaska).
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment, handle sensitive information confidentially, and organize tasks effectively.
• Familiarity with loss prevention terms and Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to detect and deter theft, support customer and employee relations, and provide credible court testimony.
• Flexibility to work any shift, including overtime and weekends.
