Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking an Asset Protection Agent in California to join our AP team and help keep customers and merchandise safe. You will collaborate with the Emergency Response Team (ERT) to prepare, respond to, and recover from emergencies, while mitigating shrinkage and preventing theft.

You will investigate theft, leverage video and RFID data, and participate in security audits. A valid security license may be required depending on location; flexibility and discretion are essential.

Responsibilities

• Resolve theft by using good judgment and conduct quality apprehensions in high shrinkage areas.
• Identify theft trends by leveraging technology, reporting and surveillance tactics.
• Drive a shrinkage reduction culture by implementing action plans and merchandise protection standards.
• Identify, escalate, and support internal theft investigations through various methods including exception-based reporting and surveillance systems.
• Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and partnering with AP Leadership and Investigation teams.
• Use video systems to monitor theft activity and support investigations.
• Leverage RFID data to view merchandise movement and aid item level investigations.
• Maintain safety and security of customers, employees, and store by responding to incidents and reporting.
