Job summary

Belk is seeking an Asset Protection Lead to drive shortage reduction and protect profitability in a store setting. You will lead process improvements, train associates, and ensure policy compliance while fostering teamwork and accountability.

You will collaborate with store leadership to prevent theft, document incidents, and support investigations, reporting metrics and safeguarding store assets with initiative and adaptability.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of retail AP experience
• Ability to lift 40 lbs
• Flexible schedule including nights and weekends
• Strong communication and reporting
• Familiarity with loss prevention policies
• Ability to work with store leadership and law enforcement

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ownership and initiative to achieve store objectives and metrics.
• Support proactive shortage reduction by identifying theft, fraud, and dishonesty.
• Assist with incidents in accordance with procedures and laws; document and report.
• Lead training initiatives, data security, and AP system application; ensure policy adherence.
• Communicate daily goals and key tasks; model knowledge-sharing.
• Enhance team knowledge by onboarding and coaching associates.
• Maintain confidentiality and support business continuity and investigations.
• Adapt to changing circumstances; adjust tactics based on business needs.
• Foster relationships with local law enforcement for collaboration and case resolution.
• Ensure store systems operate properly and report outages or safety concerns.
