Job summary

JCPenney is seeking an Asset Protection Shrink Specialist to observe activities, detect theft, and document investigations across stores. You will collect evidence, interview customers and contractors, and report to AP leadership, traveling as needed.

The role supports safety, conducts incident reporting, assists with audits, and helps store leadership communicate shrinkage and safety topics during morning meetings. A strong eye for detail and integrity are essential.

Qualifications

• Observes activities to detect theft, fraud, or suspicious activity and collects evidence.
• Executes required investigation routines and documents all stages.
• Conducts external interviews with customers and contractors suspected of theft.
• Reports suspected fraud and policy violations to AP leadership.
• Creates and manages records for apprehensions, statements, evidence, and disposition of recovered merchandise.
• Will collect evidence or monitor associate activity per AP leadership directions.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identifies potential acts of theft by observing activity and reviewing reports.
• Investigates suspicious behavior and documents findings.
• Attends court hearings and maintains liaison with law enforcement.
• Travels to stores as needed to support investigations.
• Supports safety program through coaching and floor walks.
