Job summary

Copper Springs East, operated jointly with Lifepoint Health, seeks an Assessment Specialist to support the admission process, initial evaluations, and referrals. You will document patient needs, coordinate with physicians, and ensure timely follow-up and accurate preadmission paperwork.

Ideal candidates have a hospital- based background, a current CPR certification, and a strong customer-service mindset to assist patients, physicians, visitors, and staff in a courteous manner.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counselor, or Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • Experience in a Hospital Setting.
  • CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates response to a request for services, including the initial response, the assessment, and referral process, the designation of the appropriate level of care, admission into services, and appropriate follow up activity
  • Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documents patient symptomology, functioning, and needs and provides information to MD for LOC determination
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Possesses clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA
  • Maintains all preadmission and admission paperwork with accuracy, and completes all pre-certification with insurance companies with insurance companies

How You'll Contribute

What We're Looking For
  • Education: Master's degree in Social Work, Counselor, or Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • Experience: Experience in a Hospital Setting.
  • License: Current LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LAC, ASW, LPCC, OR RN.
  • Certifications: CPR certification required.
