Job summary

Columbus Springs East, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks an Assessment Lead to join our behavioral health team in Columbus, OH. The role supports patient assessment, referral, and level-of-care decisions while ensuring timely follow-up and high-quality patient care.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in social work or counseling and an OH license (RN may substitute). Previous psychiatric facility experience and CPR/de-escalation certification within 30 days are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, counseling, or equivalent.
• Current clinical or social work license in OH (RN licensure may be used in place of master's).
• Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility with adult and geriatric patients preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment skills.
• CPR and de-escalation certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates response to a request for services, including the initial response, the assessment, and referral process, the designation of the appropriate level of care, admission into services, and appropriate follow up activity.
• Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documents patient symptomology, functioning, and needs and provides information to MD for LOC determination.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Possesses clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and EMTALA.

How You'll Contribute

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a Master's degree in social work, counseling, or equivalent and a current clinical or social work license in the state of OH. RN licensure may be used in place of master's degree. Additional requirements include:

• Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients preferred
• Must have strong clinical assessment skills
• With proper credentials, supervisory may be required to complete vitals check on patients
• CPR and de-escalation certification required within 30 days of hire
