Job summary

Columbus Springs Dublin, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring an Assessment Specialist to join our behavioral health team. You will manage initial assessments, determine care levels, and coordinate referrals while delivering compassionate, compliant patient care.

The role emphasizes strong clinical assessment skills, OH licenses, and collaboration with physicians and staff in a fast-paced setting. This full-time position offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing or master's in social work/counseling required.
• Current OH clinical, social work, or RN license required.
• Experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates response to a request for services, including assessment, referral, and level of care determination.
• Initiates the assessment, documents symptoms, functioning, and needs; provides information to MD for LOC.
• Delivers excellent customer service to patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers.
• Familiar with Emergency Detention paperwork and EMTALA processes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

How You'll Contribute

An Assessment Specialist who excels in this role:

• Facilitates response to a request for services, including the initial response, the assessment, and referral process, the designation of the appropriate level of care, admission into services, and appropriate follow up activity.
• Conducts initial evaluation, initiates the assessment, documents patient symptomology, functioning, and needs and provides information to MD for LOC determination.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA.
• Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have an associate's degree in nursing or master's in social work/counseling. Additional requirements include:

• Current clinical, social work, or RN license in the state of OH
• Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients preferred.
• Must have strong clinical assessment skills.
• CPR and CPI certified within 30 days.
