Job summary

Kelly in Arden, NC is seeking an Assembly Operator III to specialize in fiber optic cable assemblies. You will assemble, terminate, and test single and multi-fiber configurations, and support process development and transitions from concept to market.

The ideal candidate has strong hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Experience with SAP Manufacturing and ISO 9001 is preferred; overtime may be required to meet production

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in fiber optic assembly is preferred.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and reading blueprints (preferred).
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, terminate, polish, and test single and multi-fiber optic cable assemblies.
  • Package fiber optic connector components and support prototype and pre-release NPI builds as needed.
  • Use calipers, gauges, microscopes, and measuring equipment to ensure product accuracy.
  • Complete all necessary operational paperwork to maintain product traceability.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to drive efficiency and quality.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Work in a clean room, adhering to all safety protocols and gowning requirements (PPE, safety glasses, gloves, hair nets, booties).
  • Inspect products according to quality standards, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve shared goals.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe workspaces in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Work overtime as needed to support production goals.

Job Title: Assembly Operator III

Location: Arden, NC

Shift: 1st (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)

Pay Rate: $22/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assembly Operator III to join our team, specializing in fiber optic cable assemblies. This role is responsible for the assembly, termination, and testing of various fiber optic cable configurations. You will also support process development and assist in the transition of new products from concept to market.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, demonstrates exceptional hand-eye coordination, and displays meticulous attention to detail. You should be a self-starter who adapts well to shifting priorities and maintains a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly & Testing: Assemble, terminate, polish, and test single and multi-fiber optic cable assemblies.
  • Component Handling: Package fiber optic connector components and support prototype and pre-release NPI builds as needed.
  • Measurement & Inspection: Use calipers, gauges, microscopes, and measuring equipment to ensure product accuracy.
  • Documentation: Complete all necessary operational paperwork to maintain product traceability.

Required Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment required; experience in fiber optic assembly is preferred.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in using hand tools and reading blueprints (preferred).

  • Strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

  • Experience with SAP Manufacturing and ISO 9001 standards (preferred).

  • Physical Requirements: Able to work with small parts and distinguish color-coded cables; must meet clean room standards.

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to follow detailed instructions, read bill of materials, and interpret job routers and prints.

  • Work Ethic: Reliable, accountable, and maintains confidentiality as needed.

  • Availability: Must be willing to work overtime as required.

Additional Information
