Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, mechanical drawings, process instructions, and diagrams to assemble complex assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to ensure they meet specifications, tolerances, and customer requirements.
  • Assemble parts or units; position, align, and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames using hand and power tools.
  • Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.
  • Connect cables, tubes, and wiring according to specifications.
  • Disassemble units to replace parts or prepare for shipping.
  • Solder, wire, and check electrical connections for continuity.
  • Measure parts to determine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and verniers.
  • Conduct tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Monitor operation of equipment, including reading gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure machines are working properly.

Overview

The Assembler will collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to prepare components and assemble electromechanical assemblies. Responsible for all facets of the assembly process—from picking component inventory to final assembly of process equipment tooling, fixtures, and devices.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-4 years of related experience in assembly, mechanical mechanisms, wiring, and cable harnesses.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and trouble-shoot issues, applying logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions.
  • Proficient in judgment and decision-making.
  • Physical ability to balance, walk, lie on back, use manual dexterity, and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required.
  • Familiarity with vacuum system technologies and clean room environments is a plus.
  • Computer literacy in MS Word and Excel.
