Job summary

Air Products in St. Louis seeks an Assembly Production Manager to lead membrane module assembly, testing, and related activities. You will oversee safety, quality, and on-time delivery while guiding a ~90-person team across several assembly lines in a fast-paced plant environment.

You will partner with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Product Development to drive continuous improvement and capacity expansion, ensuring reliable production for diverse markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent manufacturing leadership experience.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive manufacturing, production, or assembly leadership experience.
• Experience leading large, multi-shift teams in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems (AS9100 or similar).
• Experience supporting multiple product lines with diverse customer requirements.
• Proven Lean Manufacturing, CI, Root Cause Analysis, and operational excellence experience.
• Strong KPI-driven leadership with standard work and visual management.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-shift assembly operations and ensure throughput, schedule adherence, and on-time delivery.
• Promote a strong safety culture aligned with EHS standards and BSP requirements.
• Drive quality by maintaining assembly, testing, and documentation standards per AS9100 and customer requirements.
• Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent defects.
• Develop and mentor a workforce of ~90 employees, including supervisors and team leads.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Commercial, Planning, and Product Development teams to meet customer needs.
• Identify improvements to labor utilization, productivity, and waste reduction using Lean principles.
• Support capacity expansion through workforce planning, onboarding, and certification programs.
• Oversee equipment reliability, tooling, and test equipment to meet uptime targets.
• Participate in capital planning and improvement project execution.
• Monitor KPIs such as labor efficiency, scrap, cycle time, and cost.
