Job summary

SPX Technologies in Olathe, KS seeks a Manufacturing Supervisor, Assembly (1st Shift) to lead a manufacturing team and oversee daily operations for the facility. You will hire, train, and motivate staff, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, collaboration with planning, and hands-on guidance to hourly workers in a production environment. This position is on-site at SPX Cooling Technologies facilities.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in unionized manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC industry preferred.
• Proficiency using manufacturing software and ERP systems for inventory management and production planning.
• Excellent communication and ability to motivate, supervise and train hourly workers.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing team; ensure productivity, collaboration and a positive working environment.
• Recruit and onboard new employees; participate in hiring and training activities.
• Coach and evaluate employees; deliver performance feedback and corrective actions as needed.
• Organize workflow; set objectives, schedules and monitor progress.
• Maintain safety and organize manufacturing area; enforce guidelines and conduct inspections.
• Coordinate with planning/logistics to meet on-time delivery and quality standards.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement.
