Job summary

G&W Electric is seeking an Assembler I to perform sub-assembly and assembly tasks in our Illinois manufacturing facility. You will study instructions, read blueprints, gather parts, and assemble components while checking fit and quality.

We require a high school diploma or GED, 0–1 year manufacturing experience preferred, and the ability to use small hand and power tools. Safety, documentation, and teamwork are essential; pay ranges from $22.50 to $23.75 per hour.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 0–1 year experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Able to safely use small hand and power tools.
• Able to read drawings and Bills of Material.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to read and understand English instructions.

Responsibilities

• Study assembly instructions, blueprints, and bills of materials to prepare work.
• Position parts and subassemblies using templates and measuring tools.
• Assemble components and verify correct fit before proceeding.
• Assist in building prototypes and basic projects outside production.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and comply with procedures.
• Conserve resources by using equipment and materials efficiently.
• Document production and quality actions on forms.
• Inspect finished work and ensure it meets requirements before next operation.
• Train others in basic assembly tasks as needed.
