Job summary

G&W Electric in Bolingbrook, IL, seeks an Assembler I to perform basic sub-assembly and assembly work. You will prepare parts, read instructions and drawings, and assemble components with attention to quality and efficiency.

You will contribute to a safe, clean production environment, helping with prototypes when needed and documenting workmanship. Prior experience is not required; training is provided.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 0–1 year manufacturing experience preferred.
• Able to safely use small hand and power tools.
• Able to read drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to read instructions and understand verbal instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprints, and BOMs; gather parts and materials.
• Position parts using templates or measurements.
• Assemble components and check connections for fit.
• Assist in prototypes and basic assembly projects as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and follow procedures and regulations.
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
• Train others in basic assembly tasks when needed.
• Inspect all work and ensure quality before passing to next operation.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
