Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising employees, and handling inventory, stocking, and paperwork. This role targets developing an external candidate for the Store Manager position on a limited basis.

The incumbent will help recruit, stage merchandise, manage in-stock targets, and uphold store security and cash controls while maintaining a safe, well-organized shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Proficient in interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Proficient in organization skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Facilitates merchandising, staging, stocking and pricing of merchandise.
• Manages inventory including damages, markdowns, and cash register processes.
• Maintains in-stock targets through ordering and shelf replenishment.
• Provides customer service leadership.
• Follows company procedures and policies as outlined in the employee handbook and SOPs.
• Participates in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensures cash controls and security practices are followed.
• Maintains clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Operates store in the store manager’s absence.
• Reviews operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Completes all paperwork and documentation on time.
