Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in executing store processes, supervising employees, and managing staffing, inventory, stocking, and receiving. The role is designed for an external candidate development path and is limited in duration.

The candidate will contribute to store performance, participate in open/close duties, and help ensure financial integrity through cash controls and accurate reporting while upholding company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership or managerial experience in retail preferred.
• Cash handling knowledge including cashier accountability and deposits.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with store merchandising and stocking according to manager direction.
• Manages inventory processes including damages, markdowns, scans, and paperwork.
• Follows ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Participates in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensures secure handling of company funds and cash control procedures.
• Maintains clean, well-stocked store and safe environment.
• Reviews operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Completes all required paperwork and documentation on time.
