Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising employees, staffing, inventory control, stocking, and receiving. This position also involves developing an external candidate for the Store Manager role for a limited period.

In this role you will support merchandising, inventory management, and adherence to company policies while leading by example in daily store operations and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in a leadership or managerial position.
• Two or more years of experience in a retail grocery store strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise according to store manager direction.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management including damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork and controls; prepare inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies as outlined in the employee handbook, SOP manual and communications.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of all company funds in designated bank.
• Assist in maintaining financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment for customers and employees.
• Operate store in the store manager’s absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends, expenses, shrink, and errors.
• Complete paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
