Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in supervising employees, managing inventory, stocking, and daily store operations. The role supports ongoing development of external candidates for the Store Manager position and is for a limited period.

The candidate will help with recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, and cash handling while maintaining store standards and safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in a leadership or managerial position.
• Two or more years of experience in a retail grocery store strongly preferred.
• Proficient in cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and termination practices including legal compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with store merchandising by facilitating and/or participating in staging, stocking and storage of merchandise; ensuring that merchandise is presented according to established practices and store manager direction; and properly utilizing merchandise fixtures, signing and pricing of merchandise.
