Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, supervision of staff, inventory control, stocking, receiving, and paperwork. The role is a developmental position intended to prepare external candidates for the Store Manager role for a limited period.

Qualifications

• Reading diagrams and procedures accurately.
• Basic math including percentages for reports and pricing.
• Cash handling and deposit controls.
• Familiarity with IBM cash register functions and reporting.
• Experience with inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Knowledge of cash, safety and security policies.

Responsibilities

• Support recruitment and staffing activities.
• Assist with merchandising, staging and pricing.
• Assist in inventory management and store controls.
• Follow ordering to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and serve as a role model.
• Participate in opening/closing activities and bank deposits.
• Maintain store cleanliness, safety, and compliance with policies.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on time.
