Job summary

Dobbs Tire & Auto Centers is seeking a Service Manager in Training to learn and support all service and repair responsibilities within a single unit retail store. You will work closely with store leadership to develop skills to manage service operations, ensuring quality, timeliness, safety and employee management standards are met.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of automotive repair and a focus on customer satisfaction, with a hands-on work ethic to achieve results.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in automotive repair industry as a technician, service advisor, or service manager required.
• Previous experience supporting or mentoring technicians strongly preferred.
• Strong technical acumen of automotive repair standards, tools, processes, etc.

Responsibilities

• Partners with Store Manager to learn interviewing, selection and training of service technicians.
• Assists in evaluating knowledge, skills and performance of technicians and provides input on development.
• Supports store performance goals including service sales, gross profit, customer satisfaction, safety and efficiency.
• Oversees daily work orders including time, tools, materials and equipment needed.
• Provides technical support for general and complex service requests across makes/models.
• Supports technical training to ensure skill improvement for all technician levels.
• Ensures safe operations and proper use of tools and equipment in the shop.
• Maintains store cleanliness, organization and inventory management.
• Helps analyze financial/operational data to identify trends and improvement plans.
• Leads in delivering exceptional customer service and resolves escalated concerns.
