Job summary

APAC Atlantic, Inc., Asheville Division, is a leading asphalt paving provider recognized for safety, quality, and superior service. The role involves sampling asphalt products to ensure specs are met, coordinating with management and DOT inspectors, and performing QC tests in lab or roadway settings.

You will compile data, adjust plant or roadway operations as needed, and help maintain safety standards. DOT certifications and a valid driver’s license are required or pursued, with opportunities

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; ability to interpret and apply verbal and written instructions in English.
• Must obtain and maintain DOT certifications required to test asphalt as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Sample asphalt product to ensure it meets specifications.
• Coordinate scheduling with APAC management, plant personnel and crew; liaise with DOT inspectors for samples and mix designs.
• Perform Asphalt Quality Control tests in lab or roadway; compile data and adjust plant or roadway operations as needed.
• Maintain safe work environment and follow safety policies and PPE procedures.
• Prepare and record accurate information; maintain test results database.
• Assist customers with quality-related matters.
