Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s preferred.
• Five years of construction materials testing experience, with aggregates/asphalt preferred.
• Proficient in ASTM, AASHTO, Asphalt Institute and CALTRANS testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety and OSHA/Vulcan standards in daily operations.
• Inspect, sample, and test construction materials per standard methods.
• Review test results, adjust blends when required, and document in QC database.
• Prepare submittals and statistical quality reports for products.
• Maintain certifications (AASHTO Resource, lab, and Asphalt Institute) and lab status.
• Troubleshoot field problems and inspect material sources at the plant.
• Stay updated on developments to improve operational efficiency.
