Job summary

Avamere at Chestnut Lane in Gresham, Oregon is seeking a compassionate Caregiver for full-time day shifts (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM) and part-time options. Proficiency in ASL or willingness to learn is preferred.

You will assist with ADLs, emotional support, and safe resident supervision, while maintaining a clean, respectful environment. The role offers competitive wages, benefits, and opportunities to grow within a Deaf and DeafBlind community.

Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in memory care or assisted living.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification during employment.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Genuine desire to improve quality of life for seniors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Support mobility, transfers, and use of mobility aids.
• Assist with meal setup, food cutting, and tray removal.
• Provide emotional support and companionship.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and perform housekeeping tasks.
• Monitor health, report concerns, and observe vital signs.
• Respond to resident calls promptly and orient new residents/staff as needed.
