Job summary

Avamere is seeking a compassionate caregiver for Avamere at Chestnut Lane in Gresham, OR. The role supports residents with daily living activities, emotional well-being, and safety in a Deaf and DeafBlind community.

Typical duties include ADLs, mobility support, meal prep, companionship, and maintaining a clean environment. ASL proficiency or willingness to learn is preferred; CPR/First Aid and a Food Handler's Card are required during employment.

Qualifications

• Experience in memory care or assisted living preferred.
• Must obtain CPR/First Aid certification during employment.
• Must obtain a Food Handler's Card.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Support mobility and safe transfers for residents.
• Assist with meal setup, feeding assistance, and tray removal.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Maintain housekeeping and a clean, safe environment.
• Monitor health changes and report concerns promptly to medical staff.
• Respect confidentiality and support orientation of new residents and staff.
