Job summary

Chimes is seeking a Language Acquisition Specialist for TheChimes School in a full-time, on-site role. Responsibilities include facilitating communication per the student’s IEP, interpreting using pro-tactile, and collaborating with teachers to tailor instruction.

The specialist supports the student across all environments and maintains progress documentation. Requires proficiency in American Sign Language, strong communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is a plus.
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates interaction and communication per the student’s IEP.
• Interprets using pro-tactile when the teacher is teaching.
• Collaborates with the transdisciplinary team to implement IEP goals.
• Develops and modifies instructional materials and lesson plans.
• Supports the student across all environments and school activities.
• Documents progress and maintains required records.
