Job summary

Purple Communications, Inc. is seeking a part-time interpreter to provide high quality American Sign Language interpreting through video in a call center and on-site at various customer locations in the Washington, DC area.

Candidates must be fluent in ASL and English, adhere to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct, pass the interpreting skills assessment, and complete a 40-hour New Hire Training. Flexible scheduling and travel as required.

Qualifications

• Fluent ASL and spoken English are required.
• Ability to provide accurate interpretation.
• Understanding of Deaf culture.
• Adherence to NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct.
• State licensure or credentials if applicable.
• 18 years or older to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective video relay service, video remote interpreting, and on-site interpreting for consumers.
• Support and model the company’s mission and values.
• Provide excellent customer service with a respectful and professional attitude.
• Maintain punctuality and preparedness for shifts; document accurately.
