Job summary

Purple Communications, Inc. seeks an experienced interpreter to provide high-quality American Sign Language interpreting via video in a call center and on-site at customer locations. The role requires fluent ASL and spoken English, accurate interpretation, and strict adherence to NAD-RID guidelines.

Training, flexible scheduling, and a supportive team environment are offered. The part-time position includes benefits for PT24 roles, and candidates must be able to work 24 hours per week and travel

Qualifications

• Fluent ASL and spoken English language skills.
• Able to provide accurate interpretation.
• Understanding of Deaf culture.
• Thorough knowledge of and adherence to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct.
• Three to five years of interpreting experience (preferred).
• State licensure or credentials as applicable.
• You must be 18 years or older to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective video relay service, video remote interpreting, and on-site interpreting for consumers.
• Support and model the company’s mission and values.
• Provide excellent customer service with a professional attitude toward customers and colleagues.
• Maintain punctuality and preparedness for shifts; interact respectfully with colleagues and supervisors; keep timely and accurate records.
• Adhere to FCC regulations and company policies and procedures.
• Adapt quickly to new technologies and multitask between interpreting and video-based tools.
• Participate in training for professional development and meet performance expectations with minimal supervision.
