Job summary

Propio Language Services, Inc. is seeking American Sign Language interpreters for onsite assignments in the Manatee County, FL Metropolitan area.

This is an independent contractor opportunity focusing on accurate English–ASL interpretation for healthcare and other settings. Qualified candidates hold at least one ASL certification (RID, EIPA 3.7+, or BEI), possess strong English and ASL proficiency, and are able to travel to assignments.

Qualifications

• Professional ability to interpret between English and American Sign Language.
• Fluent English and ASL communication skills are required.
• One or more years of professional interpreting experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and professional consecutive interpretation between English and American Sign Language during onsite assignments.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable.
• Follow interpreter protocols, professional standards, and client requirements.
• Comply with Propio and client confidentiality, privacy, security, and assignment protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA, and client requirements as appropriate.
• Interact professionally with clients, patients, healthcare professionals, and other participants.
• Maintain language proficiency, terminology, and subject-matter knowledge for accurate interpretation.
