This independent contractor role focuses on accurate consecutive interpretation and may include remote interpretation when needed. Candidates should have English and ASL proficiency, at least one ASL certification (RID/EIPA/BEI), applicable state licenses, and 1+ year of interpreting experience.

Qualifications

• Professional proficiency in English and American Sign Language.
• Ability to accurately provide interpretation between English and American Sign Language.
• At least one ASL interpretation certification (RID, EIPA 3.7+, or BEI).
• State-specific ASL interpreting license where applicable.
• One+ year of professional interpreting experience.
• Relevant interpreting training, credentials, or certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate consecutive interpretation between English and ASL during onsite assignments.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable.
• Follow interpreter protocols, standards, and client requirements.
• Comply with confidentiality, privacy, security, and assignment protocols.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA and client requirements.
