Job summary

Sorenson Communications is seeking a field-based trainer/installer to educate customers in using Sorenson VRS devices through American Sign Language. The role covers on-site installations, training, and ongoing support across the assigned area.

You will travel extensively, demonstrate VRS features, and collaborate with sales and marketing teams to promote the benefits of Sorenson VRS. Strong ASL, customer service, and networking knowledge are required for success.

Qualifications

• Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and able to educate customers.
• Extensive experience installing Sorenson VRS equipment and performing videophone/network installations (including T1, DSL, high-speed cable).
• Excellent written and ASL communication skills.
• Reliable transportation and ability to provide insurance/registration docs.
• Willingness to travel long distances by car or air and stay overnight.
• Strong computer skills and understanding of Internet, routers, hubs, and switches.
• Maintain a high-speed home Internet connection.
• Understand firewall needs and coordinate with IT/network admins.
• Be fluent in ASL.

Responsibilities

• Educate customers on using Sorenson VRS devices via ASL.
• Travel to customer homes/businesses for VRS training, service, and installations.
• Educate customers on SVRS features and benefits.
• Participate in events with Sales/Outreach/Marketing to educate institutions and customers.
• Attend seminars with Deaf constituents to demonstrate Sorenson services.
