Job summary

Avamere Skilled Advisors, LLC d/b/a Avamere Living is seeking a compassionate Caregiver for Avamere at Chestnut Lane in Gresham, Oregon. The role supports residents with daily living, safety, and companionship within a Deaf and DeafBlind community, with ASL proficiency preferred.

Day shift is 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Thursday through Monday, full-time. Wage range is $22.28-$29.07 per hour, DOE, with attendance bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package available.

Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in Memory Care or Assisted Living.
• Must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification during employment.
• Must obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Desire to improve quality of life for seniors and create a warm, calm environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide mobility assistance and support transfers and use of mobility aids.
• Meal preparation and setting up meals; assist with meal cleanup.
• Offer emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment including housekeeping tasks.
• Observe health changes, report concerns, and monitor vital signs when needed.
• Answer resident calls promptly and maintain confidentiality.
• Assist with orientation of new residents and staff as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Attendance bonus: The perfect attendance bonus in a pay period will be $100.00 for a full-time employee and $75.00 for a part-time employee.

Location: Avamere at Chestnut Lane - 1219 NE 6th St., Gresham, OR 97030

Avamere at Chestnut Lane is a Deaf and DeafBlind Community. The ideal candidate will be someone proficient in ASL or willing to learn.

Job Summary

The caregiver's duties encompass a wide range of tasks, including assisting with activities of daily living, emotional support, housekeeping, and ensuring the resident's safety and well-being.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

• Personal Hygiene: Helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance: Supporting residents with walking, transferring, and using mobility aids.
• Meal Preparation: Assisting with setting up meals, cutting up food if needed, and removing trays from rooms.

Emotional Support and Companionship:

• Providing Emotional Support: Offering empathy, listening to residents, and providing encouragement.
• Companionship: Engaging in conversations, activities, and social interactions to combat loneliness and isolation.

Housekeeping:

• Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including laundry, cleaning, and tidying up.

Health Monitoring and Medical Advocacy:

• Observing residents for changes in health, reporting concerns to medical professionals, and monitoring vital signs.

Other:

• Answer resident calls for assistance timely.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe work environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Maintain a safe work environment. Report safety concerns in the resident apartments to the supervisor.
• Assists with the orientation of new residents and staff when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Prefer experience as a Caregiver in a Memory Care Unit and or Assisted Living Facility.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
