Job summary

VIP, Inc. seeks a Flat Rate Technician to uphold our mission of earning automotive customers for life. The Tech will diagnose automotive systems, repair and replace parts, tires, and fluids while following VIP processes to deliver a higher-quality customer experience.

You will work safely, complete Service Work Orders, and participate in the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement process. ASE certifications (G1, A4, A5) and ongoing training are encouraged, with a standard 5-day, 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, manuals, and procedures.
• Explain vehicle information to customers clearly and respond to questions.
• Diagnose and recommend solutions for basic automotive problems.
• Understand and apply written or verbal instructions for vehicle service.
• Maintain ability to perform automotive services listed above.

Responsibilities

• Ensure workplace safety is Priority #1; follow safety policies.
• Provide diagnostics, repair, and maintenance for automotive systems covered by ASE certifications (A1–A8).
• Initiate Service Work Orders and keep them displayed with vehicles during service.
• Complete MPI and support the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement process.
• Return all used parts and prints to the desk upon service completion.
• Obtain needed parts through the Desk Team and return unused parts.
• Retain cores, batteries, and tires to designated areas for proper handling.
• Maintain 16-week productivity averages per role level.
• Follow VIP quality standards and complete required training and certifications.
• Train and support team in VIP processes and safety requirements.
• Attend meetings and training as needed.
• Perform road tests and secure vehicles after service.
