Job summary

VIP, Inc. is seeking a Flat Rate Technician to diagnose and repair automotive systems, perform maintenance, and ensure first-time quality. You will follow VIP processes, maintain safety standards, and support customers with clear explanations of vehicle conditions.

The role requires ASE-related certification progression, adherence to 5-for-5 customer engagement, and active participation in ongoing training. This is a hands-on, on-site position with standard shop duties.

Qualifications

Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, journals and procedures.
Explain vehicle information to customers clearly and accurately.
Diagnose and recommend solutions for basic automotive problems.
Interpret, understand, and apply written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
Ability to perform the automotive services listed above.

Responsibilities

Maintain workplace safety as priority and follow all safety policies and training.
Provide automotive diagnosis, repair and maintenance across ASE-scope systems.
Initiate a valid Service Work Order before servicing a vehicle; display it until completion.
Complete MPI and support the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement process.
Return service prints and keys to the Service Desk upon completion.
Obtain needed parts only from the Desk Team and return unused parts.
Return cores, batteries and used tires to designated areas per policy.
Maintain minimum productivity targets and adhere to VIP quality standards.
