Job summary

VIP is hiring a Flat Rate Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive systems while following VIP safety and customer-service standards. The role requires completing ASE-based certifications and participating in the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement process.

Expect a structured shop setting with 5‑day weeks and a focus on quality work on the first attempt. You will collaborate with Service Managers and Desk Team for parts and documentation, and you may progress through ASE certifications

Qualifications

• Hands-on diagnostic and repair skills across ASE-listed systems
• Commitment to safety policies and loss prevention programs
• Ability to explain vehicle information to customers and coworkers

Responsibilities

• Maintain 50% productivity based on billed vs worked hours.
• Follow safety policies and complete training.
• Diagnose and repair automotive systems per ASE guidelines (A1–A8).
• Initiate Service Work Orders and MPI prior to service.
• Source parts through the Desk Team and return unused parts.
• Ensure proper disposal of cores, batteries, and tires.
• Attend meetings and training sessions as needed.
• Perform vehicle road tests after service to ensure safe operation.
• Maintain a clean and safe shop environment.
• Comply with regulations governing hazardous waste disposal.
