Job summary

CarMax Conroe, TX is seeking an Auto Repair Specialist II to perform advanced mechanical repairs and ensure CarMax Quality Standards on customer and internal vehicles. You will diagnose systems, manage parts inventory, communicate repair needs to customers, and contribute to a clean, safe shop environment while supporting store operations.

This role requires ASE certifications and physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with availability for nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must complete orientation and Kronos training.
• Maintain ASE certifications in the listed areas.
• Ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately.
• Capable of performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods; flexible for nights, weekends, holidays.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced mechanical repairs, including engine performance, drivability, and electrical systems.
• Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering, suspension, complete 4-wheel alignments, and service heating and air conditioning systems.
• Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax Quality Standards and maintain shop cleanliness per 5S principles.
• Consult with customers on repair needs and explain services performed with clear communication.
• Review and close repair orders accurately, including labor, parts, and billing documentation.
• Manage parts inventory, receive shipments, and maintain stocking levels to support efficiency.
• Follow CarMax EH&S requirements and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
