Job summary

Vance Thompson Vision in Billings, MT is seeking a PRN Surgical Technician to join the operating room team. You will prepare, position, and assist in surgeries, ensuring sterile conditions and smooth daily OR operations.

A surgical technology program completion is required, with consideration for ophthalmic certifications as alternatives. This role offers competitive compensation and a supportive, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Completed an approved school of Surgical Technology.
• In lieu of education, management will consider an Ophthalmic Assistant certification and an Ophthalmic Surgical Assisting certification.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, organizing, and maintaining operating rooms in accordance with federal, state, accreditation standards and facility best practices.
• Assisting the nurses and physicians during surgical procedures by anticipating needs and passing instruments seamlessly.
• Helping with comfortably positioning patients for surgery and maintaining a calm, reassuring atmosphere in the operating room.
• Monitoring supply levels, assisting with restocking of surgical suites, and reporting equipment maintenance needs promptly.
• Turning over operating rooms between cases, ensuring that sterilization is maintained for patient safety.
• Assisting in the organization and daily function of the operating room in accordance with established federal, state, and accreditation standards and center policies and procedures.
• Preparing equipment and aiding surgeon during treatment and examination of patients.
