Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks seven Assistant Mechanical Engineers to serve as Technical Reviewer in the ACP Technical Review Unit. They will review asbestos project notifications and perform related inspections, addressing increased Affordable Housing and conversions.

Under TRU leadership, duties include verification of drawings, field observations, lab reports, and possibly testimony at hearings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or mechatronics.
• One year of full-time satisfactory experience in mechanical engineering work.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering technology with three years of full-time satisfactory experience.
• Master's degree in mechanical engineering or mechatronics.

Responsibilities

• Review asbestos project notifications and related plans for compliance.
• Conduct pre-abatement and active asbestos inspections and prepare reports.
