The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking a Construction Project Manager III to oversee the Technical Review Unit within the Asbestos Control Program. Qualifications

Four-year high school diploma or equivalent with five years' construction project management experience with projects ≥$300k.
Or one year of experience + a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
Or one year of experience + PE/architect license.
Or five years of combined education and experience as described.

Responsibilities

Oversee technical review and approval process for asbestos project applications to ensure regulatory compliance.
Conduct pre-abatement and active asbestos inspections; assess safety and code compliance with NYS/ NYC rules.
Prepare inspection reports, collect samples, review lab results, and document findings for enforcement actions.
Represent the unit at inter-agency regulatory meetings and provide guidance to staff.
